Trichy: A documentary film `Coibatore Santhippu` made by street boys of Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Coimbatore trained and produced by alaihal MIDEA (Don Bosco Communication Centre, Trichy) has won special award for children`s film. SPEECH (Society for People`s Education and Economic Change) along with CCFC organized the competitions for short and documentary films competitions.

Tiruchy: As the IPL extravaganza lit up the stadium on 17 April 2008 with glitz and fanfare, a group of seventeen priests and religious huddled together at the Salesian Provincial House in Trichy to enlighten themselves with the technical aspect of electronic communication and give a facelift to their communication pattern.

The Bubbling Youngsters Of Yercaud Celebrate Their Youth Fest In The Retreat. Eight hundred youngsters and children from thirty villages of Yercaud participated in the grand youth fest 2008. Mrs. Velambigai, Inspector of Estates, Yercaud was the esteemed chief guest.

On January 21st at Madurai, the Night School children of Don Bosco ITC celebrated the Pongal (Tamil Cultural Festival)in all its festivity.

Don Bosco Memorial Open Volleyball Tourney 2008 was an attractive boon which explored the talents of tribal youth of Yercaud on 19th and 20th of this month.Joy welled up on the faces of the participants when Mr. Radhakrishnan, Inspector of Police, Yercaud and Mr. Prakash, Sub-Inspector of Police, Yercaud declared open the tournament. Indeed, it was heart warming to see hundreds of youngsters striving forward to possess the prestigious and classical award and radiate a light of glory, unravel the immeasurable potentials and unfathomable talents. Among the 19 teams the Retreatans - Salesian Students of Philosophy - joined the tournament and won the fourth place.

On 2nd December, 148 altar boys and girls from the parishes in and around Trichy were gathered at Kristodayam Tiruchy, for a day of animation and vocation promotion.
